    Virtual Workshops

    $50$140
*These virtual workshops would be an amazing holiday gift for anyone on your list. We added 2 sessions in early 2021 for that very purpose. Since they're over Zoom, your recipient can be anywhere in the world, and it's an awesome opportunity to learn with me for a fairly low investment.* During this unprecedented time, some of you are finding yourselves with more time on your hands to learn a new skill (or to further your skill) and some of you are looking to connect to a community and partake in something relaxing and creative. I have decided to offer my comprehensive Beginner Pointed Pen workshop and also a variety of shorter workshops, conducted over Zoom.  Classes will be very limited in size to make sure we have plenty of time for guided feedback and Q&A. Beginner May 17 at 10 AM - 1:30 PM PST May 23 at 2 - 5:30 PM PST June 9 at 2 - 5:30 PM PST August 15 at 10 AM - 1:30 PM PST January 17 at 10 AM - 1:30 PM PST In this course you will learn the basics of pointed pen calligraphy.  How to use the tools, how to troubleshoot, and a basic lowercase script.  It will run approximately 3.5 hours including a little bit of a break. Finding Your Own Style 2 sessions May 13 at 3 - 5 PM PST June 27 at 10 AM to 12 PM PST We will go through a series of exercises to work on tweaking, expanding, and changing a calligraphy style that you are used to using, with the goal of finding a completely new style that is unique and can become a signature for you. Brush Lettering June 6 at 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM PST February 20 at 10 AM - 12 PM PST Learn the basics of brush lettering in this workshop.  We will use a variety of brushes and learn to letter in both a proper script and also a more stylized one. Capital Letters June 13 at 2 - 4 PM PST Since we never have much time to devote to capital letters in Beginner workshops, this workshop will focus specifically on them.  We will go through different options for script caps, including some of the main flourishes you can use for caps, and even discuss how to develop your own. • It has been an interesting year, to say the least.  And I feel like our holiday cards should reflect that.  We definitely got a little R rated and irreverent with some of these designs, but we have a feeling your friends and family might appreciate that.  (And your conservative Aunt Sally deserves to hear some curse words, right?) We also kept a few of the more G-rated greetings just in case - after all, amidst all this chaos and pain, many of us have also learned to be very grateful for what we do have. (If you would like fully custom cards with all the bells and whistles, contact us.) - 5 x 7, double thick card made of recycled paper - Flat printed - Choose your color envelope with printed return address - Envelope addressing to recipients is not included The process:
    1. Select 50, 75, 100, 150 or 200 card/envelope sets, or contact us for more.
    2. Fill in the boxes to customize your cards then "Add to Cart."
    3. Email us your photo to place on the card - we will lay it out according to size and orientation of the photo, and your chosen greeting.  We will also choose a color for the lettering and text based on what works with the photo.  You can request to change any of this during the proofing process.
    4. You will receive a digital proof by email within 4 business days for your approval.
    5. You will receive the card/envelope sets about 2 weeks after your approval of the digital proof.
  • This is a very weird time we're living in.  Unfortunately, it looks like we may be here (home? isolated? not traveling? missing our friends and family?) for a while.  So I'm excited to introduce QUARAN TINES, pronounced like VALEN TINES - gorgeous cards with shiny gold greetings for you to send to your loved ones.  Just because you "miss their face," "can't wait to hug them," and because "this sucks."  Also, what a great way to send mail and support the USPS when they need it most.  We should all be writing a lot more letters, and these make it that much easier (and more beautiful.) - 10 cards and envelopes in each set - 2 each of 5 designs - Blush cards with gold print, white envelopes - A2 size - Printed locally
  • We could all use a little more kindness in our lives. Shouldn't it be thrown around like confetti?  This gorgeous gold foiled print is a great reminder.  Printed on a soft grey paper.  A perfect holiday gift to ring in the New Year. - 11 x 14 - Printed locally
  • Brush-lettered copper foil print on black museum board. This stunning print is huge on contrast and gesture. Perfect to frame and hang in your home, or to give as a gift to say thank you. - 11 x 14 - Printed locally
  • Back by popular demand, these graphic cards are a perfect way to say thank you, especially during the holiday season.  Copper foil on heavy black paper - they are simple, elegant, and luxurious. - Set of 10 cards and 10 envelopes - Copper foil - Printed locally - A2 size, folded - Blank inside
  • Happy Holidays to you!  I created these gift tags that you can download, print out and use for whatever you want.  All FREE!
  • When I was a kid, I loved our family tradition of adding a new ornament to our tree every year.  This gorgeous, modern ornament makes a great gift for friends and family, and is the perfect place to commemorate something special from 2020 (because there had to be some special moments this year, right???)  Maybe it's "Baby's First Christmas"?  Maybe "We're Engaged"?  Maybe someone is expecting a baby?  Maybe you just want to celebrate your family as it stands this year?  These ornaments, laser cut out of clear acrylic, are laser-etched with Anne's calligraphy to say anything you choose, and they couldn't be more special. - 3 inch acrylic ornaments - Come with grey homemade silk ribbon - Locally made - Pre-order open through November 22. - Orders will ship by December 7.
  • A few years ago, I lettered all of a bride's bridesmaids' names and she ordered some jewelry trays to give them as gifts. A photo of the trays ran in Martha Stewart Weddings, and since then, I have been asked dozens of times for the same trays. But the store the bride ordered them from no longer exists, and I have been searching high and low for a way to replicate them. I finally figured it out! These obviously make perfect bridesmaid's gifts, but they could also be a little gift for yourself! - Ceramic trays measure 5 x 5 - Custom lettered - Not food or dishwasher safe - Tell us the name(s) you want in the next form
